This is what our guest has to say about himself.
My name is Rabin, I am from Nepal and came to the UK in my teens. My grandfather Tikka Ram was a well-known spiritual healer in Kathmandu and from an early age I have been connected to traditional holistic healing.
When I arrived in Glasgow I was very passionate about Martial Arts and I continued to train and compete in Tae-kwon-do. I participated in many tournaments including the world championship. Subsequently, I also gained insight into Kyusho Jitsu which is a Martial Art focussed on targeting pressure points. I understood that pressure points can be used both for harming and healing an individual and I decided to follow my grandfather’s footsteps and continue the healing tradition.
I have been devoting myself for the last 20 years to learn various holistic techniques including Shiatsu, Reflexology, Reiki, Energy work and others. I also specialised in postural integration and body psychotherapy, so I define myself as being a bodyworker.
My experience with sound bath techniques started in 2017 when I went to Nepal to study sound healing using Tibetan singing bowls. I learnt that each singing bowl is made of different metals combined and each bowl produces a different frequency of sound based on size. The bowls I use are all hand made in Nepal.
I am now learning soundtrans and music integration work. I facilitate regular sound bath events in collaboration with yoga studios and with personal development trainers. To participate to sound baths it is not necessary any specific preparation, it is enough to lay on a yoga mat, in a relaxed position and keeping warm and cosy . There are numerous benefits associated with sound baths: they help deep relaxation, clear energetic blockages and support mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing and ultimately boost health.
My mission is to facilitate increased awareness of the body and the messages it sends to us. When we become more self-aware of our bodies, we can connect to ourselves and others more deeply, as the body is the visible part of the soul.
